IjH Short speeches were given by Father Baxter, A. M. Israolsen, of Hyrum stako presidency, John Baxter, presl- H dent of tho Woodruff stake and son of Mr. Baxter, Wm. Darley, Bishop D. H Murray, of Mt. Sterling, S. B. Mltton, H of Logan, and James Kckerscl, of Rex- H burg. H At the close of the program Ice H cream and c.iko was served, after which old and, joung together Joined H In tho'dance. Tim 'day closed with a H big dan en In the ovcnlng. It was a H day that will loiuf be remembered by all that were present. The whole af- H fair was presided over by William H. H Maughan, of tho Hyrum Stake, a son- JjH In-law of Mr. Baxter. &l Patriarch Robert Baxter was born IH February 'JO, 1620, at Donoaghadee, rUjjH county Down, Ireland. When twelve H years of ago he moved to Scotland, and H there learned the shoo trade. In 1855 jH he emigrated to Utah, landing in Salt H Lako city, Sopt. 5th of the samo jH year. Although Mr Baxter Is 8ii years of ago tie is still hale and hearty H and is always doing something. Ho jH also attends all the meetings of the H Latter-day Saints. H On the 20th, Thomas P.Walters arid H Jennie B, Maughan, and Mr. West, of H Ogden, and Miss Georgle Bradshaw, of jH this town, wern married In the Logan. jH temple. Receptions were given them B in tho Uradshaw and Maughan homes. jB Mr. Walters Is a son of Prof. Walters, BjVJ and Miss Maughan Is a daughter of Hon. P. M Maughan. They aro both HB popular young people and are very HBl much respected.' Mr. West Is ot a HB good family in Ogdcp and Miss Brad- HB shaw is a most amiable young lady HHJ and Is also very much respected by tho HB people of our city. HH The Wellsvllle ball team went to HH Brigham yesterday with tire In their BH eyes and wltti a determination td wlp HH tho Brlghamltcs on their own ground, HH but the Scandinavians wero too much HH for them.
