Show Marble Co. Tuesday morning, Messrs. Lewis S. Cardon, M. J. Hallard, Wm. Walker, Fred Smith, Jos, Larson, Sam McKIn-non, McKIn-non, F. W. Thatcher, S. .T. Jeppson, and Frank Haugh left for the Utah Marble Co.'s property up Logan canyon. can-yon. Messrs. Ballard, and Cardon, acting In an ofllclal capacity for the company, will look over tho property and In conjunction with Messrs. Walker Walk-er and Thatcher will decide on a plan of operation for the summer. Three of the men in this party will remain In the canyon and proceed to get out marble under tho direction of a foreman fore-man and in line with decisions that will be made. Only black marble has been quarried thus far, and In all probability other varieties will be opened up now. A dugway will be made to the objective point and the marble loaded at tho quarry rather than after tho huge blocks havo been rolled down tho mountain side. The work will bo pushed wth all the energy en-ergy possible, and there aro nono connected con-nected with tho work at present but have the greatest confidence In the future of tho marble prospect. |
