Show Delightful social. Some of the friends or H. II. Wells, of Chicago, met In Salt Lake city on Wednesday and attended a reception given In his honor at the residences of It. S. Campbell, of Salt Lake. Those present were Charles Seeley, of Chicago, Chica-go, Attorney O. D. Jack, and John It. Winder, Jr. of Salt Lake, and Fred Turner, of 1 his city. A most enjoy-able enjoy-able time was had in partaking of a sumptuous meal prepared by Mr. Campell's family and indulging In re-mlnscences. re-mlnscences. "Hrent" Wells, as he Is known througout the state, is one of the firm of M. I). Wells & Co., of Chicago, manufacturers of shoes, who now have four factories employing thousands of hands. The firm has had an extensive business throughout the west during the past thlity-tive years, and during that time, Mr. Wells has made many warm peisonal fi lends In Utah, lu years gone by he and his wife spent their annual vacation vaca-tion lu tho mountains of tho west, and here his friends would join him on those pleasant occasions. Mr. Wells has always proved himself a friend to the people of Utah and vlsltois from this state to Chicago have always been treated royally by him. Ills health has been somewhat Impaired of late years, but he Is now considerably better. |
