Show How Uncle Sam Keeps Tab on Crops. iTiere are in the United States, approximately, ap-proximately, 2,750 counties of agricultural agricul-tural importance. In each of these counties the agricultural department has a principal county correspondent, who maintains an organization of three assistants, each covering a specified speci-fied territory. Facilities are furnished the principal correspondent to enable him to obtain regular reports from his assistants. These reports he tabulates at the end of each month, supplementing supplement-ing the information thus obtained by his own observation and knowledge of the situation, and the consolidated report re-port is submitted to the statistician attached at-tached to the position, an average of about 90 per cent of them reports monthy.
