We are pleased to hear of his siicccss in this line. The basis of nearly all the chewing ; gum manufactured in this country is . said to b'e chicle, an exudation of the sapoto tree of Mexico. Over 4,000,000 i pounds of this gum are imported into the United States annually, the product being valued at $1 ,500,000. ! On Saturday night a 15 round sparring contest was given at American Fork botween A, Ingersoll, of that place, and I '& darky named Clark, of Salt Lake. Tho latter had tho best of the contest .which ended in a draw. Mr. Rigby, of Teton Basin, Idaho, was in Lehi last week. He says there is .four feet of snow there on the level and fanning will not begin before tho middle H)f May. It is a line country and room for hundreds of industrious young mon.
