They won this title Tuesday afternoon when they defeated de-feated the Brooklyn Nationals In the seventh and deciding game of the 1020 series, 3 to 0. Coveleskie pitched the closing game, making his third victory for the series, Cleveland winning five games and Brooklyn 2. Coveleskie and Walter Mails, who also won a game for the Indians, are both western west-ern products, former members of the Coast league. The total attendance for the seven games of the world series was 178,357. The total receipts re-ceipts were $504,788, of which $50,-478.80 $50,-478.80 goes to the national commission commis-sion ; $293,432.04 to the owners of the two clubs, and $214,870.20 to the players. |
