Iron County 4-Hers and leaders ecently attended a Community F'ride Conference held at Snow College in Ephraim. Those attending were: An-inette An-inette Hunter, Carolyn Jorgenson, Cindy and Alene Chamberlain, Karla Esplin and Utah State University Extension gent Marva Esplin. Objectives of the conference ivere to help participants to learn dow to determine community needs and problems, gain a better understanding of how to plan and initiate a Community Pride project, develop knowledge and skills needed to carry out such a project, understand how 4-H 4-H Community projects fit in with the state-wide Community Progress program. All delegates from Iron County participated in planning and presenting the conference. 4-Hers and leaders participated par-ticipated in tours to City Government Offices, Community Service Centers, Cultural Enrichment Centers, Economic Development areas, physical environment areas. The City of Ephraim came to life when 4-Hers and leaders painted fire hydrants, made draperies for and painted a room to be used by Senior Citizens, painted trim on the swimming pool, cleaned up city park, and made a sand box for the children of the community. The projects were accomplished ac-complished in mini-projects at the conference. Mayor Arlin Kuhni was overwhelmed with the projects completed in such a short time.
