Show Selective Services close office; 18 year olds must still register Despite the closure of the Selective Service office in Cedar City eartythis month the need to register will continue, officials of the Selective Service System point out. The Selective Service office in Cedar City previously served Beaver, Washington, Garfield, Kane and Iron Counties. Upon its closure all records were transferred tran-sferred to the Salt Lake Headquarters. Any inquiries should be addressed ad-dressed to Utah Selective Service System Headquarters, 469 South 400 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. Continuous registration with the Selective Service System was stopped on April 1, 1975, by Presidential Proclamation. Young men born in 1957 or before who have not registered will be required to do so on a national registration day sometime early in March of 1976. The exact date of this mass registration and. the location of places of registration will be announced nationwide. State Director Delmore E. John urged all young rrfen and their families to watch the news media for details. It is anticipated that provisions will be made f6r youth in this area of the state to register in Cedar City on the mass registration date. |
