Show Parowan Stake plans Heritage Arts event PAROWAN The seven wards of the Parowan Utah Stake will present a Heritage Arts Program at 8 p.m. Sat. evening Aug. 30 at the Parowan High School Auditorium. This will be a preview of the LDS Church sponsored heritage arts festival which will be a part of the Bicentennial celebration during ,the year 1976. There will be no admission charged and visitors in the area for the Iron County Fair are invited to attend this historic presentation. LaMar Jensen is chairman for the Stake with Ward chairmans chosen to plan the programs. Each Ward's presentation will represent a 20 year period bringing us from the 1820's to the 19(i0's. Parowan Third Ward chairman chair-man is Mrs. Jean Hendrickson. They will feature the 1920's and 30's. Parowan 2nd Ward's presentation will be under the direction of Joan Mortensen and feature 1900 and 1920's. Parowan First Ward has not yet announced their chaiman, they will cover the 1880's and 1900's. Enoch First Ward will feature the 1820's to 1840's with Helen Jones as program director. Enoch 2nd will be under the leadership of Mrs. Gay Mathesen and will cover the 1840's and 1860's. Summit Ward Chairman is Alma Lawrence and their years will be 1860 to 1880. Paragonah will feature 1940 to 1960 and will be under the direction of Ruth Boardman. If you enjoy nostalgia and song and dance and good company, you should plan on attending this outstanding program as a part of the Iron County Fair. |
