Show State Bank hangs noted art works the community." Landscapes, portraits, abstracts ab-stracts and paintings of homes and other Utah buildings are part of the Utah Watercolor Society show -- an exhibit which has an unusually wide range of color, tone, style and technique for watercolor. Judged Best-in-Show during the exhibit's appearance at Weber State College was "Cappriccio," by Ken Davidson,, Ogden, an abstract of geometric shapes and bright colors. Honorable mention awards went to "Determined," bv Bonnie Phillips, Salt Lake City; "Untitled," "Un-titled," by Arthur Adelman, Ogden; "East of Timpanogos," by Nancy Lund, Bountiful, and "Looking for Some Good I Times," by John Nyberg, Granger. Watercolorists from Southern l Utah who would like to enter work in next year's exhibit should contact Rose Ann Peterson, 1077 E. Arlington Way, Bountiful, 84010. Two of Cedar Ci'y's most illustrious artists are represented in the Utah Watercolor Society's first annual juried exhibit which will hang in the State Bank of Southern Utah gallery for two weeks beginning Tuesday. Thomas Leek's "Bird's Eye View," geometric patterns of farm, field and plain seen from the air and painted in rich, warm tones, is the highlight of the show. Douglas Miller's evocative "May 25th," a vivid recollection of home and woods, is among the most memorable pieces in the exhibit. Both Leek and Miller are from Cedar City. The exhibit, open to the public is being brought to Cedar City by the Bi-Centennial arts touring program of the Division of Continuing Education, University of Utah. Local ; sponsor is the State Bank of Southern Utah. The show will hang at the bank gallery through Friday, Sept. 5.
