Show o$Qd Paragonah LTy"jn By Hilma Lamoreaux returned to work. Mrs. Ellen Marie Jensen of Bullhead City, Ariz, arrived here on Mon. for a visit with her father Bill Dalton and family. She was to enter the hospital in Cedar City on Mon. for surgery. Mrs. Emma Dalton left for Salt Lake City on Wed. to spend Christmas Holidays with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Inglesby and two boys. Miss Wendy Robinson of Logan arrived home on Fri. evening for a few days visit with her people, the Boyd Robinson family. Mrs. Lula Bastian traveled to Washington on SaL with Mr. and Mrs. Vern Mortensen of Parowan to spend the day with the Fred Dalton family. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jones were to Salt Lake City last week to spend a few days with the J. B. Jones and David Pack families. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Dav-nenport Dav-nenport and two children of Salt Lake City were here to spend Christmas with the Douglas Davenport family but Douglas suffered a heart attack on Christmas eve and was taken to the Hospital in Cedar City for treatment. He is reported to be somewhat improved in the Cardia Care unit there. Wilson Lund left for the north on Wed. to join his wife Roene who has been there most of the month. They were to visit with the Victor Smiths of Ogden and the Steve Halversens of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Barton hosted their annual Christmas eve dinner party at their home following the Primary Program. The Dallen Williams family of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Orton and three children of Parowan and Mrs. Melva Barton and son J. Lowe were here for the event Mrs. An- nabelle Parkinson Lister, who passed away on Fri. was born March 10, 1920 in Beaver to George Arnold and Aretta Joseph Parkinson. She was the second in a family of eight children. She attended school in Beaver and was a graduate of the high school there. She was married to John R. Lister Sept. 13, 1940 in Parowan and has made her home in Paragonah since that time. She was a devoted mother and" grandmother, had worked in the PTA and in the Primary where she had been a teacher and the secretary, the latter position she had filled for many many years and she was serving in that position at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, sons John (Jack) and Alan, Washington; Larry Arthur, Irvine, Calif; Arnold,, Price; Ralph, who is serving a' mission in Scotland, Roger Kay, Paragonah; 14 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters. Foch Parkinson, and Mrs. Louis (Myrl) Lessing, Beaver; Mrs. Liddell (Josephine) McBride, Ogden; Mrs. Hugh (Itah ) Robinson, Cedar City, Roma Funk, Salt Lake City, Donna Boyce, Granada Hills, Calif. Mrs. Harold (Joan) Hickman, Provo. A large crowd attended the Primary Christmas Eve program in the Cultural Hall on Fri. evening. Mrs. Ruth Board-man Board-man was the narrator for the spiritual part of the evenings activities as the children sang of the birth of Jesus. Later there were rhythm band selections, Santa Claus songs etc. and Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snow man put in appearances as well as old Santa Claus himself. The Holiday spirit was considerably con-siderably dampened by the death of Mrs. Annabelle Lister who collapsed at her home' and passed away enroute to Cedar City. Emergency treatment at the Valley View Hospital failed to revive her. This happened mid day on Friday. Funeral services are set for Tues. Word has also been received of the death of Mrs. Ella Robb, the stepmother of Ivan Robb, who passed away in a Salt Lake Hospital. Mrs. Robb was a frequent visitor to Paragonah in the past and was well known here.Mrs. Idella Robinson had a host of her family with her for dinner on Christmas Day. The Robinsons sons Kay and Burgess both were in Salt Lake City and Erma would divide her time between the Clyde Lamoreaux home in Salt Lake City and the Donald Burtons Bur-tons in Layton. Mrs. Bertha S. Topham went to Delta for the holidays. Her grandson Joe came on Thurs. to take her to the home of the Doyle Tophams. Jeff and Debbie Coe became first time parents on Fri. Dec. 17 when a six pound girl was born to them at the family home. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Thornton traveled to Las Vegas to spend Christmas with members of Kristine's family. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Thornton and son Gerry Michael of Ogden arrived here on Fri. to spend Christmas with Gerry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Abbott and two children came from Salt Lake City on Fri. to spend Christmas with the Myron Abbott Ab-bott and Albin Judd families. Bonnie and the children were to remain here fqr a time when Lee Mr. and Mrs. Mike Stubbs and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Urie and baby were here from Cedar City, the Dee White family came from Summit, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Robinson, Tom and Sharon came from Parowan, Keith and Sherlynn Fenstermaker from Provo, the Wayne Rowley a do Gene Adams families from Jbas Vegas, the Jerry Robinsons from American Fork. The Douglas Robinsons from Page, Arjz. and the Larry Robinsons frdm Salt Lakj City. Mr. and Mrs. John Lawrence and Sue Dunton were here overnight from Cedar City to spend Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dunton. Mrs. Leona Stones was to Cedar City overnight to spend Christmas with the Carlyle Mitchell family. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Topham and two children of Taylorsville and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Topham and little daughter of Price were holiday visitors here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma .Topham. . Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Robb and two little boys came from Roosevelt to visit until after New Years with the Ivan Robb family. Vivians daughters, Sandra Cotton of Las Vegas and Karen Ferguson of St. George joined the Robb family for Christmas. Mr. Ivan Robb reports another great grandchild, a little girl born on Sun. to Rick and Janice Trimmer who are in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Elmore daughters Nina, Sophie and Bonnie and the latter's boy friend were here from St. George on Sun. to visit with Mrs. Nina Robb. Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson and Mrs. Erma |
