He has been serving as the attendant for the juvenile detention center In Cedar City and was in charge of the police department in a community in Arizona. Earl Bunn, Chairman of the city power board, was to the meeting and discussed the electric department and the necessity of improving the Parowan sub station to allow more power to come into the city from outside sources through the Bureau of Reclamation and Utah Power and Light. The capacity at the station is almost at a peak and needs to be increased. Materials for a sub station are in stock, however the city would need to purchase a bank of regulators at a cost of ten thousand dollars, The Council also discussed the high cost of power purchased from Utah Power and Light Company. This power costs five times as much as power purchased from the Bureau of Reclamation. It was brought to the attention of the Council that the State Aeronautics Board has proposed to the city that the board pave the access road to the airport and also fence the airport area to prevent stray animals from getting on the runways. They have proposed that the city share the estimated cost of the project--$25,000. The city's share would be about $6,250. The city will check into the possibility of using labor to pay their share of the cost. Unless this arrangement can be made, the project will have to be postponed until the next fiscal year. Mr, Karl Myers attended the meeting to discuss the complaints com-plaints he has received concerning con-cerning junk cars he has on property west of town, He has agreed to have the cars moved, they will probably be moved to the city dump to await a crusher j truck to come and pick them up.
