Show Marriott seeks Third Judge Congressman Dan Marriott today called the House Judiciary Committee decision to give Utah a third District Court Judge the "most practical remedy for present time" in dealing with Utah Chief Judge Willis Ritter. "I admire my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee for making that decision," said the Utah Republican. "Though it is a temporary, 'band-aid' type solution, it is the best alternative short of outright impeachment." Asked whether he would still consider introducing an impeachment resolution against Ritter, Marriott said, "We will continue to look at all alterntives. The most important thing that can be done now is correct the current problem, then look at the entire judicial process to see where we can put more teeth into it. There needs to be more peer pressure within the system to police their own members." |
