Show Parovan hires animal control officer information on Parowan, population, area, etc. The council agreed to submit the information to them. Work is now progressing n a new power line being constructed from the substation sub-station in Parowan North on 2nd West and then to Parowan High School. This will alleviate some of the voltage problems in town. Minutes of the power board meeting were presented to the council, they recommended that the total bill presented to Rodney Adams on his subdivision should be paid by him. The council discussed building permits and those people getting them for the next few weeks because of construction on the line there will be some delay. The bond election for the proposed swimming pool and park improvements will be held on November 29. council approved hiring her on a 90-day trail period. Also discussed at the meeting was the possibility of requiring all dogs to have rabies shots. It was proposed that perhaps a veterinarian could be asked to spend some time in Parowan to immunize the dogs. The council approved amending the ordinance controlling dogs to include a resolution that all dogs be requried to have the shots. The curb and gutter project on 3rd North between bet-ween Main and 1st East is now underway. Parowan construction was the low bidder on the project. The curb and gutter will be installed in-stalled on both sides of that block. Councilwomen Frankie Lou Bentley reported on a recent planning and zoning meeting, she reported that Steve Applegate requested the graveltrap area be re-zoned re-zoned to an industrial area. This matter was tabled for City manager Woodrow Decker attended the Parowan City Council meeting Wednesday and reported there are about 32 blocks, or nineteen thousand feet, of water line yet to be put in to replace the old two inch lines within the city. The council advised him to present a map of the area's discussed and bring it for the council to study. Decker estimated the cost at $125,000. Parowan Chief of Police, Joe Haslem and patrolman Joe Mickelson attended the meeting and said it has been reported to them that insulators in-sulators are being shot off power poles in and out of town. The council agreed to , post a reward for information in-formation leading to the arrest or conviction of those involved. Possible fine will be $299.
