Show Halls Crossing Resort changes Hands PHOENIX. Hall's Crossing resort and marina on Lake Powell in Utah has been purchased by Del Webb Recreational Properties, a subsidiary of the Del E. Webb Corporation, for an undisclosed price. Seller was -" a group of stockholders headed by Calvin Black, of Blanding, Utah, who helped found the marina in 1964. Rex Maughan, executive vice-president of Del Webb Recreational Properties, made the announcement. "We are very pleased with the growth of Hall's Crossing and its reputation for friendliness," said Maughan. "Jerry and Tena . Sampson have operated this marina for 10 years, and have built a very loyal following. They will remain as managers." Webb plans a new trailer village and a feasibility study for an auto-bus-passenger ferry service connecting Hall's Crossing and Bullfrog Resort and Marina, which operates approximately five miles across the bay. The only other crossing over 180 mile long Lake Powell is Utah Highway 95 at Hite. Hall's Crossing services include rental houseboats and powerboats, rental trailers, RV-trailer campground, cam-pground, restaurant, boat servicing, slips and sales and a general store. Lake Powell, considered one of the nation's most exciting water playgrounds is still being discovered on a national scale, is served by four facilities owned and operated by Webb under authorization by the National Park Service. "We believe there will always be a demand for unique recreational attractions at-tractions like Lake Powell," said Maughan. "Del Webb considers the purchase of Hall's Crossing to be an opportunity . to provide more uniform services to all Lake Powell visitors and to be an excellent investment." |
