May 13, 10, 1976 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals will be received by the IRON COUNTY COMMISSION at Parowan, Utah until 10:00 O'clock A.M., May 26th, 1976, and at that time publicly opened for the construction con-struction of 5.5 miles of Collector Road in Iron County, the same being that section of Collector Road Route No. CR29 from the MidValley Road to State Route No. 56 identified as Collector Road Project No. CR 29 (1). , The length of the road to be constructed or improved is 5.5 miles and the principal items of work are approximately as follows: SCHEDULE I: Lump Sum mobilization, construction signs and flag persons; 34,500 cys of imported granular embankment; em-bankment; 20,000 tons of crushed aggregate base course; 685 tons of bituminous materials; 10,200 tons of bituminous surface course central hot plant mixed; and miscellaneous CMP culverts for extensions, replacements and new installations. SCHEDULE II: Lump Sum mobilization, construction signs and flagpersons; 34,500 cys of imported granular embankment; em-bankment; 20,000 tons of crushed aggregate base course; 1225 tons of bituminous materials; 15,500 tons of bituminous surface course road mixed; and . miscellaneous CMP culverts for extensions, replacements and new installations. 1 SCHEDULE III: 86 yards. of reinforced concrete headwalls for the CMP culverts. The project is to be completed in 100 working days. Prequalification of bidders is required. Prior to any bidders receiving plans and specifications spe-cifications it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with the Utah Department of Transportation completed and approved, the required Prequalification Statement pertaining to the contractor's experience and financial condition. con-dition. The attention of bidders is directed to Special Provisions covering subletting or assigning the contract. In conformity with, and by I authority of Title 34, Chapter 30, ' Utah Code Annoatated 1953, the ' general prevailing rates as' determined . by the Industrial Commission of Utah shall be effective and apply to this project, and are the minimum wages to be paid on this project. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that contractors con-tractors engaged in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (52 Stat. 1060). The Iron County Commission, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252), hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to , this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible respon-sible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color or national origin. Proposal forms, plans and specifications are on file in the office of the Iron County Clerk, Parowan, Utah and at the ofice of RALPH B. PLATT, Consulting Engineer, 40 South 200 West Street, Cedar City, Utah, where they may be reviewed by prospective bidders. Plans, specifications, and proposal forms may be obtained only at the office of RALPH B. PLATT, Consulting Engineer, 40 South 200 West Street, Cedar City, Utah upon application and payment of a fee of $25.00 perset, no part of which will be refunded. Each bidder must submit a bid bond from an approved surety company on the forms provided by the local agency; or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashier's check for not less than 5 percent of the total for the highest alternate or SCHEDULE I or II plus the amount of SCHEDULE III, made in good faith and payable .to the Iron . County Treasurer, as evidence and guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required. This is a recall for bids covering the project previously advertised and received. The proposal now contains SH-CEDULE SH-CEDULE I which is for a central hot plant mixed bituminous surface course and as an alternate therefor SCHEDULE II which is for a road mixed bituminous surface course, and SCHEDULE III covering the reinforced concrete headwalls for the CMP culverts. The Iron County Commission reserves the right to reject any bid or all bids; to make the award on the basis of either SCHEDULE I or SCHEDULE II as an alternate therefor and in the best interest of Iron County |
