Show Commission OKs funds for fire department Iron County Commission agreed to budget for the next calendar year to help provide additional fire hose for the Cedar City Volunteer Fire Department De-partment in an effort to bring the department to the requirements require-ments as set by the State Fire Marshall. The request to the commission commis-sion was made by the Cedar City unit, who serve with the unit from Parowan, to meet the need of fire fighting within with-in Iron County. Iron County, it was pointed out, has participated partici-pated in the purchase of equipment for both departments depart-ments in order that the county coun-ty can be served by the departments de-partments as well. Funds for the required hose will be considered the 1973 budget. In other action of the recent re-cent Iron County Commission meeting a subdivision, proposed propos-ed by Mat Bulloch of Cedar City and to be known as "Little "Lit-tle Enoch," was approved. The subdivision will be located in midvalley and had previously been approved by the Iron County Planning and Zoning commission and the county attorney and engineer. Steve Grimshaw, District Fire Warden, received approval approv-al of the commission to purchase pur-chase a fire extinguisher and red spot light lense for his unit. Also as Deputy County Assessor he was granted permission per-mission to purchase a polor-oid polor-oid camera to assist in assessment as-sessment work of the department. depart-ment. Bids were opened at the commission meeting for the providing of liability insurance for Iron County for the next three years. The award was given to General Acceptance Corporation of Cedar City. Authorization was given for County Treasurer E u gene Robb to attend Treasurers workshop to be held July 11 and 15 in Vtrnal. |
