Show Routine matters occupy council at regular meet At the regular meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday night many matters of routine business was considered con-sidered and a number of citizens citi-zens met with the group to make reports or requests on city services, according to Mayor Ralph S. Orton. j In the first or these re-! re-! quests, Ray Bentley appeared to request an extension of a sewer line on 200 South be-I be-I tween 200 and 300 East front-I front-I ing property he owns. Mr. Bentley was told by the council coun-cil that at this time the city was not in a position to extend ex-tend any sewer lines. I Robert Rowley met with the council to go over plans he has prepared for improvements improve-ments at the airport. Also studied was an agreement submitted to Parowan City by the Utah State Aeronautics Board, which outlined the provision under which the city ci-ty could obtain a 50 grant for the improvements there. The council was satisfied satis-fied with his report and encouraged en-couraged Mr. Graff and his associates in their undertaking, undertak-ing, and voiced their approval of the center. City Manager Wood Decker met with the Council to discuss dis-cuss items under his jurisdic-tnon. jurisdic-tnon. These included the city park, the' municipal swimming swim-ming pool and street improvements. improve-ments. He was instructed to go ahead with his program concerning these projects. Ralph B. Piatt, city engineer, engi-neer, met with the council to discuss the engineering and plans in preparation for the city to purchase a pump to install on the well drilled more than a year ago on the southeast comer of town, for intended use in the city culinary culin-ary system. Mr. Piatt was authorized au-thorized to go ahead with plans and specification on said project. Earl Bunn, Councilman in charge of the city recreation program, discussed the program pro-gram for operation of the municipal mu-nicipal swimming pool during the coming season and reported re-ported on improvements he felt should be made in that area. Pie was instructed by the Council to go ahead with preparations for opening that facility when warm weather comes, in the way of employing employ-ing a manager and other necessary nec-essary help needed to operate that facility. |
