Show Parowan High radio - station to go (he air December 1 J Wednesday morning found tne electronics class excited-1J? excited-1J? installing equipment into their broadcasting studio. The r.n-vc had arrived and was being placed on its specially constructed table, the tape recorder was in place and the j turn table was ready to be Wired for broadcasting. .The instructor, James L. Benson, has 15 boys working on this educational project, and they expect to begin broadcasting around Dec. 1,. The frequency will be 90.9 FM. They hope to cover the entire Parowan Valley. ,FPWN will be basically an educational station. Sports activities ac-tivities will be covered, children's chil-dren's stories will be retold or Sad, musical productions, such as concerts, etc., and numbers prepared in the Speech and Radio TV production produc-tion class will be aired. Mr. Benson reports that the station will be affiliated with the National Educational Radio Ra-dio Network, which will provide pro-vide very worthwhile programs pro-grams to be given over the air. Utah State University is cooperating, especially in the fields of agrimiltura and home living. Brigham Young University is especially interested in Mr. Benson's project and is fully cooperating in many ways. KYI! will nrovide. among oth- ers, The Concert Hour of the Air, Its Devotional Hour and Americana, which is an outstanding out-standing patriotic program. The Southwest Media Center Cen-ter in Cedar City is also cooperating co-operating by furnishing tapes cCnd .other materials. Some of the materials have been constructed locally thru tine cooperation of Mr. Willis flobinson, Industrial Arts In-sjtructor, In-sjtructor, and the T. and I. Hass. I Plans call for the broadcast (Jay to begin at 3 p. m. and continue until 7 p. m. daily. |
