Show Redmen down Milford and Moapa Valley in action over week end A scoring battle between Danny Holm of Milford and Eric Marchant of Cedar City came out a tossup Friday evening ev-ening on the Cedar High School basketball court but the Redmen won the ultimate battle with a convincing 68-49 victory. Saturday evening the Cedar High Redmen traveled to Nevada Ne-vada to meet Moapa Valley. The Redmen with a complete dominaiton of the boards won a 71 to 39 victory. The Redmen collected 69 rebounds to 19 for Moapa Valley and Robin Haight led the scoring with 20 points. Both Marchant and Holm split the nets for 25 points each to lead their respective teams in that department, but it was the better balance and scoring threat of the Redmen team that proved victorious. Only four of the Tigers of Milford got into the scoring column while eight of the Redmen scored. Marchant actually act-ually had the better individual individ-ual battle with 10 fieldgoals compared to eight for Holm but Holm picked up nine points from the free throw line on 13 attempts. Marchant hit five of seven attempts from the charity stripe. The Redmen dominated action ac-tion as a team as they took an early lead and were never bested in the contest. Midway in the third quarter the Red-men Red-men moved out to a 20 point margin, largest of the game, and Coach Richard Hobbs went to the bench for a number num-ber of different team combinations combin-ations in the practice session. Tom Cardon was the only other Redman In double figures fig-ures with 10 and he left, via the foul route, with 28 seconds sec-onds remaining in the third quarter of play. Marchant also went to the bench for a portion por-tion of the fourth period of play and still came up with 25 points in the contest. Although he hit for only eight points the influence of Robin Haight on the boards was another contributing factor for the Redmen.
