Show INSPECTS BRICK WORK. Carl Hales of Fred C. Hales and Sons, Masonry Contractors, looks over work being done on the New Parowan High School. I ing, that portion which will house the science and library libra-ry departments. The brick masons ma-sons are at the present time working on the area which will house the home living department de-partment and the auxiliary gym. (The residents of Parowan had their first experience with a strike and picketing last week at the new school site, when in a labor dispute, the job was closed down for much of two days before the difficulty diffi-culty was ironed out. We might add that the some students stu-dents of the elementary school rather enjoyed the situation.) Bricklayers at Work Now on New Hi School Building By Willis Robinson After tons of concrete and steel have been put in place, the brick masons take over to do their part of the work on new Parowan High School. At the present time there have been almost 25,000 bricks put in place, which is about one-sixth one-sixth of the total number of 155,000 which will be laid in the walls of the new building. Ten thousand cinder blocks out of almost 125,000 to go in-; in-; to the building, are now in place. The morter that has ' been chosen blends with the fj brick colors. Mr. Hales in- forms us that it will take ap-t ap-t proximately 1,000 bags of lime, 1,000 bags of cement and 225 cubic yards of sand for the morter in the brick work of the building. ; The interior sides of the ma-.') ma-.') sonry walls will be of painted cinder blocks.
