Show District Governor To Attend Lions Birthday Fete me EDMUND L. SMITH Edmund L. Smith of Milford, Utah District Governor, 28-H, Lions International, will make jhis official visitation to the ! Parowan Lions Club on Thursday, Thurs-day, March 30 at 8 p. m. He will be present for the annual birthday party of the Parowan Paro-wan club which will be held that evening at the Brian Head Ski Lodge in Parowan Canyon. Can-yon. Mr. Smith, a native of Deni-son, Deni-son, Texas, is a former Union ; Pacific possenger conductor, i the first mayor of Milford after af-ter the change from town to city status in 1948; was chairman chair-man of the local board of adjustment ad-justment for the Order of Railway Rail-way Conductors for 16 years retiring in 1962 after 52 years of railroading. He joined the Milford Lions Club in 1932, and has served as president, zone chairman, as a member of the state legislative leg-islative committee, and has been secretary of the Milford club since 1959. He holds the Lions Membership Key, Advancement Ad-vancement Key, Master Key, and will soon receive the Senior Sen-ior Master Key. On the civic level, Smith served as the first Beaver Co. chairman for the National Foundation in 1940; he was !and secretary of the general j board of adjustment for the U P system for eight years. He is currently justice of the peace for Milford, Milford Precinct Pre-cinct and Beaver County. He is a member of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian Church and is now secretary of Albert Pike Lodge j No. 14, F & A M and a member mem-ber of the El Kalah Shrine Temple. He married the former Gwendolyn Smith in Franklin, Idaho and they have two daughters, Lucile and Joan, both living in Denver, Colo. |
