Show Nation's Birthday to Be Observed In Parowan with Full Day of Events Plans for a full day of activity for next Monday, July 4 in I'aro-wan I'aro-wan are now complete according to word given out by those in charge of the various parts on the day's program. The observance observ-ance of the day is being sponsored spon-sored by Parowan City, with Earl Bunn, councilman, heading up the celebration, and the sponsors are urging all citizens to respond In taking parts in the events of the day. These events will get underway with a parade, set to begin at 9:30 a. m. All businessses, clubs and church groups are urged to enter a float, either large or of the miniature variety, in this event. The parade will form on 100 South Street in front of the County Rest Home promptly at 9 a. m. Featured in the parade and the patriotic meeting which will follow fol-low will be David Hyatt representing repre-senting Uncle Sam, and Miss Cheryl Lynn Stubbs as the Goddess God-dess of Liberty. The meeting which will follow the parade will be held in the Third Ward chapel under the direction di-rection of Parowan Post No. 20 'of the American Legion and will feature Howard D. Knight as speaker. Sports, games and other activities activi-ties for the younger people will be held on the city park at 11 a. m. with Homer Adams in charge. Rodeo, Racing in Afternoon In the afternoon the activity iwith shift to the city race track iind rodeo arena where the Red Hill Wranglers will stage their annual Independence Day race meet and amateur rodeo. The Wranglers, will get the Independence In-dependence Day celebration off to a good start with a pre-after-noon of racing and rodeo events on Saturday, July 2, with a full afternoon's program. The big day will be July 4 with post time for the racing and riding program being set for 2 p. m. at the City race track and rodeo arena. The Red Hill Wranglers are well versed in presenting such programs, and Paul Fife, president presi-dent of the riding club, states that this year's show will be as good or better than any yet staged stag-ed by his organization. . i |
