Show Independence Day Celebration Saturday, July 2, 1966 1 Iron Rangers Rodeo 6:30 p. m. Cedar Canyon Arena Monday, July 4, 1966 8:00 a. m. Flag Ceremony Traditional formal ceremony by National Guard at City Park. Citizens have been asked to gather at 7:30 a. m for presentation presenta-tion of special flag respect instructions. 8:30 a. m. Concessions at City Park will open Concessions will include: fish pond, penny pitch, baseball pitch, ring toss and dart games. Rides will also be available, including: includ-ing: Pony rides, buggy rides and train rides. 9:00 a. m. Parade Will be led by National Guard Color Guard. Residents are asked to respect the flag during the parade. Parade will begin at Safeway parking lot. It will proceed north on Main Street to 200 Nortli Street where it will turn east to the middle of the block. Floats will then be taken through the access road to the Foodtown parking lot where they will remain on display. 10:00 a. m. Concessions at Park will continue Pit barbecue, hot dogs and soft drinks will be available. 11:30 a. m. Patriotic Program Participating will be the Cedar High School Band, Cedar City Master Singers, with an address by General Maxwell E. Rich former adjutant of the Utah National Guard. 12:03 Noon Games and Contests Races will be held with first, second and third prizes awarded in each of the races. They will include three-legged race, wheel barrow race, sack race and foot racing for all ages. 3:00 p. m. Sky Divers' Show To be held at the Cedar City Airport. A thrill a minute, prize drawing between acts. Tickets will be on sale by members of the Lions Club. , 9:00 p. m. Fire Works Spectacular The traditional ending event of the Independence Day celebration cele-bration in Cedar City, located east of Cedar City against the foothills. |
