Show George Albert Moyle Dies of Accidental Gunshot Wound Suffered While Hunting ueorge Aioert Moyie, zj, oi t.s-calante t.s-calante Valley died early Sunday morning, June 26 at the Valley View Medical Center from a gun shot would inflicted in a hunting accident Thursday, June 23. The accident occurred during a rabbit hunt in the valley with the accidental shooting taking place during the reloading of a 22 calibre single action revolver pistol, by a hunting companion, Steven Anzalone, 15. According to a report by Iron County Sheriff Otto Fife, the accident ac-cident occurred at approximately 7 p. m. near the Clark Ranch in the Esealantp Valley. After hunting for awhile the 22 rifle being used by Anzalone jammed, so he traded the rifle to Moyle for a .22 Colt revolver. At the time the youth was informed that the pistol had only one live round in the chamber. After jumping a rabbit the Anzalone An-zalone boy fired a shot and thinking the revolver was empty prepared to reload while facing Moyle. Sheriff Fife pointed out that in order to reload the revolver it was necessary to pull the hammer ham-mer back to a cocked position to , turn uie i-junucr iit-ci iu ! the empty shells and reload. An-'zalone An-'zalone was in the process of do-'ing do-'ing this when his thumb slipped !off the hammer causing the live (shell in the chamber to go off. At the time of the accident the pair were separated by approximately approxi-mately ten feet. The bullet fired from the revolver entered Moyle's abdomen near the belt, coursing through his abdomen and lodging lodg-ing in his right leg, severing the artery leading to the right leg. i He was rushed to the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City by his father, J. E. Moyle, for emergency treatment. He remained re-mained unconscious, however, until succumbing at 12:55 a. m. ' Sunday. ; Moyle was born May 11, 1941, in Cedar City, a son of Jack Elliot El-liot and Georgia Holt Moyle. He married Luella Maria Anzalone, and was later divorced.
