Show I Troy Cawood Passes Away, Funeral I Rites Held Tuesday Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 p. m. for Troy Cawood, Ca-wood, 75, well-known Parowan resident, who died at the Valley View Medical Center on Aug. 19, of natural causes following a long illness. The services were held in the Parowan Third Ward chapel with Reed Orton of the ward bishopric conducting. Speakers at the services were Glen Halterman and Troy Thornton, Thorn-ton, the latter a nephew, of Las Vegas, with remarks by Mr. Orton. The prayer at the family home was offered by W. Clair Rowley; I the invocation was by Charles F. iBentley, the benediction was by Clifton P. Halterman and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery, ceme-tery, where interrment took place, was dedicated by Pres. Howard D. Knight. Musical numbers on the program pro-gram were a vocal duet, "Beautiful "Beau-tiful Isle of Somewhere," by Rula D. Orton and Hazel Dawn Dal-ton, Dal-ton, accompanied by Mary Lyman; Ly-man; an accordion solo, "Home on the Range," by Duane Lamor-eaux, Lamor-eaux, and the song "Peace I Leave with The", by a ladies double trio consisting of Helen Whitney, Katrine Johnson, Mary-etta Mary-etta Orton, Ranae Fife, Jackie Robinson and Beverly Taylor, accompanied by Itha Mortensen, who was also at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers and flowers were carried by nieces. Troy Cawood was born Oct. 21, 1890 in Robinson, 111 to Vance and Katherine DuCummon Cawood. Ca-wood. He married Anna Bentley of Parowan in 1920 in Salt Lake City, and they resided in Selig-Mr. Selig-Mr. Cawood sold his buiness in the Arizona city, at which time man, Ariz., for 19 years. In 1921 they moved to Parowan. He was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his widow of this city. |
