Show Telephone Directors Discuss Improvement According to Robert Hyde, local representative on the board of directors of the South Central Utah Telephone Association, the directors discussed the possible need for additional equipment at the Escalante Valley Telephone building In order to handle the large volume of calls. At the present time the valley is served by four circuits, one of which has been out of order much of the time recently. Nothing definite can be decided, however, until the matter Is discussed with REA engineers. Mr. Hyde also reported that there is a distinct possibility that telephone service may be obtained ob-tained for residents in the Beryl area. He stated that a maximum maxi-mum of $150 per phone may be spent on REA installations, and that an engineer is expected in the near future to see if the phones which have been requested request-ed in the Beryl area can be installed in-stalled within that figure. |
