Show Cedar 6th, Paragonah Move Into Las Vegas Tourney Cedar Sixth Ward and the Par-agonah Par-agonah Ward Junior M-Men soft-ball soft-ball teams won first and second places, respectively, in the district dis-trict tournament held at Miners-vllle Miners-vllle early this week. As a result of the tournament both teams won the right to enter the Division Divi-sion Tournament which opens In Las Vegas this evening and continues con-tinues through Saturday. Sixth Ward defeated Miners-ville Miners-ville 18 to 17 in the first round of play and Paragonah came from behind to down the Cedar First by a score of 12 to 8 to win their way into the finals. Sixth Ward defeated Paragonah Paragon-ah 11 to 9 in the championshtp game, however, both clubs will represent the three-stake district in the Division tournament this week end. Cedar sixth moved into a 11 to 0 lead in the championship game and then held on to that lead as Paragonah pounded in nine runs, but not enough to catch the Cedar Ce-dar team. Cedar held a 11 to 0 lead after three innings then Paragonah scored seven runs in the fourth and two In the remaining re-maining innings for their score. Winner of the division tournament tourna-ment at Las Vegas will, advance to the All-Church Junior M-Men Tournament to be held at Salt Lake City later this month. Minersvllle defeated Cedar First in the other game of the district tournament to take third place honors. |
