Show Verdi's "Requium" Scheduled At College on April 2 1st Intensive rehearsals are being conducted for combined college and community choruses and orchestra or-chestra in preparation for the Sunday, April 21 presentation of Verdi's "Requlum" at College of Southern Utah. Scheduled for an 8 p. m. performance per-formance in the CSU Auditorium, the religious symphonic work represents one of the most ambl-tious ambl-tious musical undertakings attempted at-tempted by the college. Sung entirely in Latin and set to a score performed rarely because of its difficulty, the "Requlum" Is praised for its scope and beauty. beau-ty. Special sound equipment is being used to assure full and authentic . reproduction of the music. Two 70-volce choirs will be directed di-rected by Dr. Blaine Johnson with the CSU Symphony Orchestra providing accompaniment and performing orchestral portions of the work under the supervision of Professor Roy L. Halversen. |
