Show Price Contractor Submits Low Bid On Green's Lake Watershed Project Culmination of two years of exhaustive preparation was reached Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the opening of bids for construction measures on the Green's Lake Watershed and Flood Control project. D. Claude Urie, contracting officers for the sponsoring sponsor-ing organizations, opened 1G bids with all but one including includ-ing the entire project. Three bid schedules were open to contractors. Low bidder at the opening, which drew a crowd of over 50 people to the city and county buildinc in Cedar City, was H. J. Wimmer, con raet-or raet-or of price. His bid was $181,591.-95. $181,591.-95. That was $10,591.30 below the encineer's estimate of $222,189.25. Bids ranged from the low submitted sub-mitted by Wimmer Construction Company to a hi'h of $2."0.858 27 submitted by Louis McNeisli Construction Company of Salt Lake City. Knudson Construction Com-' Com-' pany of Ogden was next to low bidder, just $1,810.99 higher than Wimmer with a bid of $1SG,405.-91. $1SG,405.-91. Awarding of the contract will not be made until approxima'e-ly approxima'e-ly 30 clays after Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service personnel in Salt Lake City and officials in Wash, ington. D. C. have investigated the bidders. All bids will be forwarded for-warded to Salt Lake Ci'y offices and from there to Washington for final approval. Weather permitting, work on the project will start on Mar. 3 and stipulations of the contract calls for completion of the project pro-ject after 180 working days.
