Show All-State, Regional Selections Announced by News Official selections for All-State and all-regional football honors were announced Saturday via the Deseret News. Three Cedar City-High City-High School Redmen were selected select-ed for all-state honors and the Redmen dominated the Region 1 selection lists. Two other Region Ten players were named for all-state honors. Topping the list were Cedar City's halfbacks, fleet footed Gary Anderson and pile-driving and hard tackling Ron Prince. These two men were selected to the All-State Class B first team. Dale Rider, 200 pound tackle for the Redmen, was named to-the to-the all-state second squad. Other Oth-er Region Ten men named to the second squad were David Empey, guard of Dixie, and David Bown, Milford, who was switched from guard to fullback this season. Anderson, Prince and Rider in addition to Sheldon Bowler, end; Ron Condie, guard, and Eric-Gardner, Eric-Gardner, quarterback, were named nam-ed to the Region Ten all-star first team with second team regional re-gional honors going to Keith Foulgr, guard; Neil Gentry, center cen-ter and Phil Yergensen, fullback. Complete Region 10 selections in addition to the Cedar City selections, se-lections, above mentioned, were as follows: First team: Merlin Empey, guard, Dixie: George Stahell, center, cen-ter, Dixie; Kelly Dutton, tackle.
