Show Parowan Stake Gold and Green Ball Termed I Success; Program Carried Out Varied Theme The Parowan Slake Gold and ! I Green Ball, held Saturday eve-I 'ning, Jan. 11 in the multi-purpose room of the Parowan Ele- ! mcntary School, was a very successful suc-cessful event according to H. E. Bayles, YM.MIA superintendent. The M I A executives invited I two teen-agers from each ward in the stake, prior to the event, to work as members of the general planning committee. The young people accepted the responsibility I in naming the themes, creating, ' and setting them up to serve as the setting for the dance, Mr. Bayles states. He lists these themes with the advisor, teenage teen-age committee members and the members putting on the floor show number from the various wards of the stake. They are as follows: Parowan First, theme, Japanese; Japan-ese; advisor, Pres. Carol Farns-worth. Farns-worth. committee, Marie Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, Jimmy Green. Floor show number was a medley of songs by Diane and Marie Rasmussen, Kathy Miller, Judy Munford. Helen Hel-en sue Taylor, Jerrie Benson, Ruth Ann Knight, Cherryl Lynn Stubbs with Karen Dalton, accompanist. Parowan Second: refreshments, punch and cookies, advisor, Supt. Boyd Mitchell. Floor show, a vo- cal duet. "The Wonderful World of the Young," by Kathy and Sharon Rowley, accompanied by flay Rowley. I Parowan Third: Theme, Winter-Wonderland. Winter-Wonderland. Committee, Hal Orton, Or-ton, advisor; Evalee Applegatc, Gregory Miller, Diana Orton, Mic-kie Mic-kie Applegatc, Brenda Chamberlain. Chamber-lain. Floor show, two musical songs. The first was "You'll Never Nev-er Walk Alone," by Evalee Ap-nlegate. Ap-nlegate. Diana Orton, Kathlen Mitchell with Brenda Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, accompanist. Number two was "Toyland," by RcNoe Fife, Janice Lowder, Sandra Slack, MaryEtta Orton, Helen Whitney, Christine Johnson with Vyonne Chamberlain, accompanist. It was noted that many of the teen-agers commented that 'This was the best dance because of the many that more than helped, put their heart into it," says Mr. Bayles. |
