Show Model United Nations , ! Delegates Will Join Assembly Eighteen members of the Cedar City United Nations Club will leave Thursday morning for Salt Lake City where they will participate parti-cipate in the annual UN Model Assembly sponsored by 'ne n'" versity of Utah. Delegates who will represent the Cedar City club at the assembly as-sembly will be Mary Ann Palmer, Claudia Palmer, Dow Seegmiller and Don Seegmiller.''. The Cedar City club will represent rep-resent Finland and Salon at the assembly. Dr. Ralph Bunch, undersecretary undersecre-tary of the United Nations, will be in attendance and will address ad-dress the assembly. Evants of the model UN meeting meet-ing will be held at the U of U Union building. The Cedar City club members will return home Saturday evening. The Cedar City UN Club members mem-bers meet at the high school every Thursday evening and have studied extensively the two countries which they will repre. sent at this annual meeting. The study includes the basic jpolitl-cal jpolitl-cal structure of the country, its relative standing in current world affairs and prepare themselves them-selves to ballot and voice their opinions on various resolutions to be brought to the floor of the mock UN assembly in Salt Lake City. In addition the students study parliamentary procedure. President of the UN Club Is Gary LeBaron. Rex Ahlstrom is vice president, with Bonnie Clark secretary and Lauren MacDonald as corresponding secretary and Christie Bauer, parliamentarian. |
