Show Founders' Day Program Staged by P Til A very successful FTA Founders Found-ers Day program was held last Monday evening. The prog'am was opened with a musical number num-ber by Cynthia Williams, arm-panied arm-panied by Helen Harris. Each school presented a short skit. In charge of the West Elementary itklt was Harriet Burgess and Bessie Dover. The yearly event of "Family Night" was depleted with the Wendell Bunnel family representing the typical family and a group of students present-ed present-ed a square dance. The skit for the North Elementary Ele-mentary was handled by LaRae Gulllford. A group of 16 children called themselves "Nit-Wits." carried a poster and demonstrated demonstrat-ed broken rules of safety. Afton Stapley, chairman; Pa Sorenson, Ava Brlnghurst and Ellnore Judd of the East Elementary Ele-mentary presented a skit on membership. Yvonne Bulloch and Ruth Eeegmiller represented the Junior Jun-ior Jlifrh School. They pave a telephone dialogue on the annual an-nual Halloween social. The high school gave the ABC of the PTA. This was printed on a screen in rhyme. Shirley Stmt-ton Stmt-ton was the reader, assisted bv Mvma Hanslnk and Louise Peterson. Pet-erson. The theme for the evening was What Have We Done?" It was unw t" werall supervision of Sidney nahne. highlight of the evening-was evening-was the presentation of a PTA life membership to each principal princi-pal by his unit president. This gift came ns a surprise to the principals. Tho receiving memberships mem-berships were Willis Wvnn, Pratt Befh". L. C. Miles. Oscar Mulct and Thomas Abplanalp. The PTA Council presented a life membership member-ship to William R. Palmer, who was one of the founders of the FTA here and the first president. The program was closed with a number by the Allaunettes, after af-ter which the guests were served cake roll and nut cups. Parents are again Invited to atend the panel discussion on Mental Problems of School Chil-1 dren. This will be held next Thursday at 7:30 p. m. In tlio West Ellmentary library. Willis Wynn will be moderator with Dr. Taylor, Dr. Simons and La-Rue La-Rue Ford as members of the panel. i |
