Show Horace Heidt to Present llz Hour Youth Opportunity Show in Cedar Lee Empey, president of the Cedar City Kiwanis club, announced an-nounced today that his organization organi-zation has completed plans to sponsor the appearance of the Horace Heidt Youth Opportunity Opportuni-ty show in Cedar City on Nov. 20 in the Branch Agricultural college fieldhouse. This will mark the show's first appearance here and if past performance per-formance is any indication, Cedar City is going to have one of the top entertainment features of the year. The show has been on the Pacific coast all summer where it has gone under considerable alterations with the addition of j new faces, new dance routines, new costumes and new production produc-tion numbers. The Original Youth Opportunity Opportuni-ty program has spent the last several months breaking in the new show and appearing at Army Ar-my and Navy installations on the Pacific coast. Heidt has been auditioning and presenting talent tal-ent from the Armed Forces in order that the boys who have given up their careers temporarily temporar-ily won't be forgotten by the audiences of America. All professional and amateur talent will be given the opportunity oppor-tunity to audition for a place on the show and for a place on either the regular Sunday night CBS broadcast or the Monday night television show. One of Horace Heidt's talent scouts will arrive in Cedar City shortly to hold the auditions for all those desiring to try-out. The rules are simple and anyone over 14 years of age is eligible to appear. No groups of more than four will be accepted and everyone Is expected to bring their own accompanist. Watch this newspaper for the time and place of the anditions to be announcer an-nouncer later. Appearing in the 214 -hour show in Cedar City will be such stars of the program as Ralph Sigwald, Richard Melari, Lou Di-Magglo Di-Magglo and Conley Graves, who have been with the show for some time, in addition to new talent, such as Johnny Standley, one of the really fine new comics; com-ics; Bud Messinie, six-time winner win-ner on the television show and five-time winner on the radio broadcast; lovely Lila Jackson, a new young singer and dancer; Jack Rowley, 1950 national baton ba-ton champion; Ginger Crowley, Jackie Joslin, Joanne Cherry and many others. Tickets for the show are expected ex-pected to be on sale soon, and all seats in the fieldhouse will be reserved. A chart will be available to select your seat. |
