Show CSU Play Production Class Gives Three-flct Comedy , The first major production of the year by the dramatics department de-partment at College of Southern Utah was presented Wednesday night and will be repeated tonight, to-night, Thursday. Three-act comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace" is under the direction of Prof. Richard M. Rowley. It Is a fast-moving play full of hilarious hil-arious situations and many punch lines. After the opening of the play on Broadway several years ago, they story was made into a successfu.l motion picture, and has since become a perennial peren-nial favorite over the country. Two sweet old' spinsters are possessed by an innocent pastime hobby of helping lonely old men find peace and contentment with the help of "a teaspoon of arsenic, ar-senic, a half teaspoon of strychnine, stry-chnine, and just a pinch of cyanide." cyan-ide." Cast members include Carol Williams and Mona Rae Hall, as Martha Brewster; Faun Rae Ok-er.'und Ok-er.'und as the other spinster sister; sis-ter; KeUand Terry, as llortimer, Jackie Winterrose as his fiance; Sanford Topham as Teddy, who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt; Lane Ronnow as Dr. Harper; Dean. McAllister as Officer Bro-phy. Bro-phy. Seve Rozelle plays Jonathan; Nelson Taylor plays Dr. Einstein; Ein-stein; Jim Miller Is Oflcer O'-Hara; O'-Hara; Steve Carpenter is Officer Klein; and Clark Ronnow Is Mr. Wltherspoon. Mr. Ronnow is also student director dir-ector of the production with Jerry Frame as stage manager. |
