Show 4-H Youth Win Awards in Utah FOREMOST among 4-H Club members in Utah are two teen-agers who have high ratings in the National 4-H Safety and Electric award programs. Noteworthy efforts in the 4-H Electric program have gathered State laurels and all-expense trip to the National 4-11 Club Congress in Chicago Chi-cago for Scott Rogers, 18, of Lewis-ton, Lewis-ton, provided by the Westinghouse Educational Foundation. Scott has made two small motors, run by a 6-volt 6-volt battery; a test-lamp; an extension exten-sion cord and a trouble light. He has repaired appliances, radios and equipment; installed switches and outlets, and assembled a motor which he placed on a lawn-mower. Scott also participated in two club demonstrations, demon-strations, on fusing and wiring. Dur-ring Dur-ring his club career he has been junior leader, vice-president and president. His club leaders are Clarissa Talbot, Huby Rogers and Velma Rawlins. Noteworthy results in the 4-H Safety program have heen accomplished accom-plished by Florence Richardson, 17, of Cedar City, for which she re- ' reived as state winner, the General Motors trio award to the 33rd National Na-tional 4-H Club Congressin Chicago. Scott Rogers Florence Richerdson She helped make her community more safety conscious by means of surveys, demonstrations, and other aids, under the guidance of Helen C. Jones, her local club leader. Florence organized a 4-11 group, teaching them important phases of safety and arranged ar-ranged for public officers to give lessons. les-sons. She held a safety rally, gave first aid demonstrations, prepared window displays, surveyed neighbors' neigh-bors' homes, gave radio talks, and composed and presented a skit concerning con-cerning safety.
