Show Herschel Neeley Accepts Lions Club Gavel : . : v ' ' 4 HERSCHEL M. NEELEY In accepting the gavel, symbol of leadership in the Cedar City Lions Club, Herschel Neeley asked ask-ed for the continued support of the club members during the coming year. Installation of Neeley Nee-ley as president of the club was accomplished at an Impressive meeting held at Cedar Breaks Lodge Monday night. Outgoing president Ray Llnd-qulst Llnd-qulst turned over the reins of the club to Neeley and presented pins to the outgoing members that served under his administration adminis-tration this past year. Wallace Osborne, chairman of the installation program, also served as master of ceremonies. He welcomed over 90 Lions and their wives to the program at the scenic Cedar Breaks lodge. Program, in addition to the Installation In-stallation ceremonies, included musical numbers by Garn Seeg- miller, a vocal solo; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood, a vocal duet; Forrest For-rest Hunter, a vocal solo. Past district governor, Jim Urle of the local club, briefly discuss-ed discuss-ed Llonlsm and its part in the community. Neeley introduced the elective board of directors and officers to serve with him during the coming year and presented pins to the members as a symbol of their obligations for the coming year. Committee assignments and appointments for various projects carried on by the civic group will be announced at the next regular meeting of the Lions Club, Neeley Nee-ley stated. Other officers installed to serve included: D. C. Schmutz, first vice president; Haze Hunter, second vice president; Ren Taylor, Third vice president; G. D. MacDonald, tail twister; Gaylord Whitney, Hon tamer, and Carlyle Mitchell and Tony Lambert, directors. Holdover directors are J. Frank Dalley and Howard F. Wood, while Dee G. Cowan and Joe W. Atkln, have been named secretary secre-tary and treasurer, respectively. |
