Show Program Announced Here for Utah Conference On Higher Education Dr. Arthur S. Adams, president if the American Council on Education Edu-cation from Washington, D. C, will address the annual meeting of the Utah Conference on Higher Education, which will be held on the campus of the Branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college in Cedar City on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 4 and 5. "Higher Education - Its Responsibility Re-sponsibility in the Present World of Emergency and Its Hole in Future Fu-ture Stability", will be the subject sub-ject of Dr. Adams' talk when he addresses the meeting of faculty members of Utah colleges and universities. Sessions of the conference, I which is under the general chairmanship chair-manship of Dean Asahael D. Woodruff of Brigham Young University, Uni-versity, will be held Tuesday j morning and afternoon and Wednesday Wed-nesday morning. Dr. Adams will also address a general executive meeting of the I conference which will be held I Tuesday morning. Subject of his address to this group will be, "The University Family". Presiding Presid-ing at this session will be Dr. Adam S. iiennion of the University Univer-sity of Utah Board of Hegents. A reception in honor of Dr. Adams will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. in the LDS Institute of Religion. D. C. Schmutz is in charge of the reception, and luncheon will he served under the direction of the BAC Women's Faculty association. The educators will be happy to have parents, business men, club members, civic and community com-munity leaders in all occupations, join with them in discussing timely and peitinent problems relating to the training of our young people during this period of emergency. Dr. II. Wayne Driggs, late director di-rector of the B. A. C. was president presi-dent of the conference until his death July 20. Dr. A. D. Woodruff, dean of the giaduate school at the B. Y. U. is vice president, and II. Blaine Winters of the State Department of Public Instruction is executive secretary. Following the final session of the conference Wednesday, the group will travel to Cedar Breaks in the afternoon. Geology of the Cedar Breaks area will be explained ex-plained by Prof. George Hansen of BYU, and the flora and fauna of the area will be discussed by Prof. Twain Tippotts of the BAC. The group will have a luncheon lunch-eon at Cedar Breaks lodge before |
