Show Southern Utah Power Participates in Grant for Research The Southern Utah Power company com-pany of Cedar City was one of four such companies of Utah to participate in a $7800 grant to the Utah State Agricultural college col-lege this week to conduct research re-search on farm electrification. Other companies participating were the Utah Power and Light Co., Telluride Power and Light Co., and the Uintah Power and Light Co. Object of the research project is to supply new and important facts and methods concerning the optimum use of electricty on Utah farms. College officials pointed out that cooperative efforts of the companies making the grant and the U S A C make research results re-sults quickly available to farmers farm-ers in the form of new methods and equipment. A special phase of the program will deal with the proper use of electricity by rural youth groups Including Future Farmers of America and 4-H club members. Practical demonstrations and lished materials will be made available for use In their educational educa-tional programs. vResearch will be conducted by the Utah Agricultural Experiment Experi-ment station and cooperating departments de-partments at the U S A C. Results Re-sults and practical application of the work will go to farm folk through the Utah Agricultural Extension Service and other cooperating co-operating agericies. session beginning at 2 o'clock both Monday and Tuesday. An evening session Monday will begin be-gin at 8 o'clock. All sessions will be held in the college auditorium. Dr. Joseph N. Symons Is leader of ther Institute. He is professor of sociology at Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural college, and recently appointed dean of students. A visiting professor of sociology at B A C for the summer session, he will be the featured lecturer at each of the sessions. Supplementing the talks by Dr. Symons will be some choice films on family life .- subjects to be shown Sunday evening, Monday morning and afternoon and Tuesday morning and afternoon. The film periods will be separate separ-ate from the lecture periods, and anyone may attend either period or both, Professor Kupfer said.
