Show Funeral Services To Be Held for Prominent Lady Mrs. Ida Maria Lowder Orton Paxton. 81, prominent resident of Parowan for most of her life died Wednesday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Macfarlane in Ogden. Death resulted from ailments ail-ments incident to her age. Funeral services will be held in the Parowan West ward chapel Saturday at 1 p. m., under the direction of the ward bishopric, with Joseph E. Ward conducting. Friends may call at the family home in Parowan Friday and Saturday prior to the services. Burial will be in the Parowan city cemetery. Mrs. Paxton was born in Para-gonah, Para-gonah, August 3, 18C8, a daughter daugh-ter of John L. and Emily Hod-getts Hod-getts Lowder. When a child she moved with her family to Par-owan, Par-owan, where she has resided most of the time since. She was married to Moroni A. Orton Jan. 13, 1888. He died in September, 1910. She was married to Anthony An-thony Paxton of Kanosh in 1918 and for two and one-half years they resided in Kanosh and Delta, Del-ta, Utah. Mrs. Paxton was a member of the L D S church and was an ac- tive memoer ot tne Parowan west ward. She was also an active member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers, and had served as the president of that organization. For many years she operated the Orton, later called the Paxton hotel in Parowan. Surviving are her husband, three daughters and a son, Mrs. Ora Macfarlane, Ogden; Mrs. Caddie O. Christensen, Fillmore; Mrs. Clara O. Taylor, and Orwin H. Orton, Provo; 15 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, 13 great grandchildren and t w o great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Webb, Mrs. Zilpha Guymon, Lewis M., and William J. Lowder, Parowan; Mrs. Kath-erine Kath-erine Jensen, Provo, and Edgar Lowder, Los Angeles. . I |
