August 3 - - -D. A Sk en of bait Lake City, was today elected Pie.siilent ol the International In-ternational Association of Lions Clubs nt the closing .session of tlu' twenty - ei;;ht Internation al Annual Meeting. The Association, Associa-tion, which added 3ti8 new clubs and had a net Increase of 28,000 memb.r.s during the year ended June 30lh., now has a total of 4j-00 4j-00 clubs and 180.000 members Mi fourteen countries. Prior to his elevation to liio presidency, pres-idency, Skeen served Lions International Inter-national as 3rd., 2 , and 1st. Vice-President, Vice-President, successively. He servet the Lions Club of Salt Lake Ci'y as Director and President, and during 1922 he held the office of District Governor of the Lions Clubs of Utah. He served one term as International Director. Skeen Is associated with tliL la firm of Irvine. Skeen and Thur-nuui. Thur-nuui. Ho Is a member of the Utah State Bar. the American Bar Association, As-sociation, and the Commercial Law League of America. He was formerly form-erly deputy county attorney ol Salt Lake County. In accepting the presidency, skeen sk-een said, "Great.r today than ever. Is our opportunity for service. We have se.-'ii in a short space of tune our very right to serve our fellow man challenged. Skeen was bom In Plain City, Utah, and attend d the University of Utah Ho relieved his B S. de--jree from the Utah Stat.- Agricultural Agricul-tural College and his L. L. U. degree de-gree from, the University of Chicago. Chi-cago. He Is a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, mid s affiliated with the Latter Day! Suints Church. He was artive In the establishment of the Utah Stale Training School for Feeble-! minded Children, and was president presi-dent of the Governing Board of that Institution for ten years. He Is Interested In various other phas-es phas-es of social welfare work. He Is ulso interested In farming and livestock. Skeen Is married and tta.s five children. Mrs. Paul Cason has returned to Salt Lake City with her small daughter. Kathlyn. following a brief visit In Cedar City with relative. re-lative.
