Show (Eight-Year-Old Childs J)ies From Monoxide Poisoning The eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Zealott Millett died Sunday Sun-day evening a victim of accidental monoxide poisoning, bringing a tragic ending to a pleasant Easter Sunday family excursion to Hurricane. Hur-ricane. The child, Allen Zealott Millett, Mil-lett, was found dead in the rear of a pick-up truck when the family reached home at about 8 p. m. The child died of escaping gas fumes after he had partially covered cov-ered his head with a coat when he became cold about 10 miles from town. The father and four other children were in the rear of the truck with him, but assumed the child had gone to sleep. His death was not discovered until he was carried into the family home by his father. Allen yi&s born in Cedar City, December De-cember 4, 1935yand at the time of death was a second grade pupil in the Cedar City public schools. He is survived by his parents, five brothers and sisters, Devola, Carrol, Keith, Veryl and Richard; three grandparents, George A. Millet, Mil-let, Cedar City, and Mr, and Mrs. M. F. Stout, Hurricane. Funeral services were held Wednesday Wed-nesday in the Third Ward Chapel with Bishop J. Clair Piatt presiding. The opening prayer was offered by Otto Reeves followed by a duet rendered by Mrs. Annette Betensen and Mrs. Zelma Lunt, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Webster. They sajig, "How Ocntle Odd's Commands." Com-mands." Another duet was given I by Mrs. Elaine Southwick and Lorln C. Miles, accompanied by Frank Van jcott. "There Is Life Beyond The Shadow." The first speaker ws James Fish, er, second speaker Dr. J. S. Prest-wich, Prest-wich, followed by a solo, "Thie Is My Task," rendered by Lorln O. Miles and accompanied by Margaret Margar-et Webster. Mrs." Dawson, Allen's teach was the third speaker, followed follow-ed by remarks from I. E. Riddle. I Concluding remarks were by Bishop Piatt. Another duet, "In the Beautiful Beau-tiful Land." was glvfcn by Mrs. : Bettensen and Mrs. Lunt, accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Webster, The benediction benedic-tion was given by President Oscar Hulet. Dedication was by George A. MiUett. |
