Show Special Turkey Day Program Slated At St. George Saturday Turkey growers of Iron County and any one Interested in this Important Im-portant Southern Utah industry, are invited to attend special Turkey Tur-key Day activities in Washington County, Saturday, Feb 9th. The invitation is extended by Ervll Eanders of Hurricane, president of the Washington County Turkey Growers' Association, who states that a pleasant and profitable day l.s assured those who attend. The day's program will Include a visit to the turkey farms of the county, a free turkey dinner, a miniature turkey show, and a public pub-lic meeting. Those who wish to join in the activities are asked to meet at the Post Office in St. George at 10:00 a. m. which time the tour of Washington Wash-ington county turkey farms will begin. The tour will end at Hurricane, Hur-ricane, where a big free turkey dinner din-ner will "be served, after which the guests will be taken to a miniature turkey show, featurinft both live and dre.'sed birds. Following the show the group will return to St. George for a public meeting at 7:30 p. m. Oovemor Herbert H. Maw will be a guest of the Association fur day, and will be the principal speaker at the dinner at Hurricane. The Governor will also speak at i the evening meeting. In addition to Governor Maw,' speakers at the gatherings will in- elude leading state and Industry officials. Among them will be Chris ' Peterson, President of the Federation Federa-tion of Turkey Growers; Ralph , Blackham, President of the Moroni J Turkey Growers Association; Rayl Tuttle, a leader In the Industry in Washington and Oregon, who will give comparative information of Utah and Northwest conditions; and Extension Service specialists. |
