Show Plans Complete For Big July Foisth Celebration i.vcuning is in readiness for an vxt nsive Independence Day program pro-gram m Cedur City, which will include in-clude a minature parade, patriotic meeting, sports of various kinds, a children's dance, and a Independence Indepen-dence Day Dance in the evening. Numerous piizes will be given for the best floats In the parade, an for the best character portrayls by group individuals. A nunvb.r of section prizes will Ce given, and also a number of prizes to Individuals. Indivi-duals. L. N. Marsden, Jr., Mis. Fae iix and thomas B. Cardon will act is judges. Smooth Seaman and John Rowierry have charge of the jommcrcial s ctlon of the parade, with Mrs. Km'.l Roundy, Mrs. Dur-lam Dur-lam Morris and Mrs. Lanell Lunt in chai ge of a special Priniiry section. The parade will assemble West of the City Park at 9;30 a.m. and pron.ply at 10:00 a.m. will march up Main street and return to the First Ward Chapel, where the Patriotic Pat-riotic meeting will be held undei the direction of Mrs. Vrne Frame. Preston Gledhill, general chairman, chair-man, announces that following these events and starting piomptly at 2:00 p.m. there will be sports events for everyone at eiihhddumw events for everyone at the city ;ark, followed at 3:00 o'clock by swimming contests and exhibitions at the municipal pool. At 4:p.m. a softball game will be played at the B'.A.C. campus ietween Cedar City and Ploche, Nevada, with the b.st players of the two towns making up the teams. This will be followed follow-ed by a Junior softball game under the d.rectlon of Yorke Nelson. Beginning at 6:03 p.m. a children's child-ren's danc2 will be held at the open air dance hall, and at 9:30 the final fin-al event of the day. the Independence Indepen-dence Duy dance, will begin. This will also be held at tlij open air hall. |
