Show 9 Report Made On Activities Of Cedar City Public Library . The following report of activities at the Carnegie Public Library in Cedar City, Is given by Mrs. Lillian B. Corry, librarian. ADULT DEPARTMENT During 1940 there were eighty volumes contributed to our library by the following: Mayor H. H. Lunt, F. W. Otterstorm, Mrs. Oeorge Hess, George Edwards, Mrs. Zella Mathe-son. Mathe-son. Director Henry Oberhansley, Cedar City Drama Club, Frank Van Cott, Mrs. Earl Merryweather, J. T. Leigh, President William R. Palmer, Alice C. Knell, Mrs. Lila Winget. In addition to the above gifts there were serveral hundred magazines maga-zines given, also subscriptions to the following newspapers: Iron County Record, Millard Co. News, 'Y' News, Mining News, Washington Washing-ton County News, all donated by the publishers. We have also received donations of subscriptions, to the following magazines: America Hebrew, American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary Magazine, Automobile and Trailer Travel Magazine, Red Cross Courier, Instructor. To all these contributors we extend ex-tend our sincerest thanks. Their gifts have greatly aided in supplying supply-ing the demand. The following books have recently recent-ly been added to our shelves: "For Whom The Bell Tolls", Hemingway; Heming-way; "Oliver Wiswell", Roberts; "Invitation To Live", Douglas; "Fame Is The Spur", Spring; "The Oreat Mistake", "The White Cliffs," "Giant Joshua", "Silent Drums', "The Wounded Don't Cry", "Obstetrical "Ob-stetrical Nursing", "We The Parents", "Pioneer Stories", "History Of Utah, 1847-69", Neff; "O. Henry Memorial Mem-orial Awards Storles-1940", "The Earth Is The Lord's", "Lincoln Talks", "Entertaining Is Fun", "Key Largo", "Saphrla And The Slave Girl", "Rennl The Rescurer", "Pronunciation "Pro-nunciation of 10,000 Proper Names", "Manners Are Fun", "Dietetics For The Clinician", "Bird In The Tree", "Trelawney", "The Family." JUVENILE DEPARTMENT Many fine new books have also been added in the Juvenile Department De-partment such as "Loranga. The Pygamy", "Little Pear", "Sonny Elephant", "Story Of Lee Ling", "Salute", "Those Plummer Children", Child-ren", "Judy And Chris", "Clearing Weather", "The Oood Master", "All Over Town", "Gloomy, The Camel", "Restless Robin", and many others. We invite parents to come and use these books and we especially invite all the children to come. Our library is open from 3 to S p. m. |
