Show Local 4-H Clubsters Win High Honors in State-Wide Contest Ciara Jean Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roice B. Nelson of Cedar City, has won the State 4-H Club Dress award. She is a member mem-ber of the 5th year clothing club of Cedar City lead by Mrs. M. F. Grames. Clara Jean wins a trip to the Chicago International Livestock Exposition and the National 4-H Club Congress in December with all expenses paid. Other 4-H club members who represented Iron County at the State Fair were: Zola Jones, 4-H member and club leader, Doris Esplln, Wilma Mendenhall, ' Merrill Liston of Cedar City and Anna Robinson of Paragonah. Zola Jones and Clara Jean Nelson won first place in the Home Economics Eco-nomics Judging contest in the State and Clara Jean was second place winner In the individual Home Economics Judging. Dojls Esplin and Wilma Mendenhall won "A" rating in their 4-H demonstration demon-stration on "Proper Methods in Dishwashing." Anna Robinson and Merrill Liston were contestants in the boys and girls' division in the State Heath Contest. Zola Jones, a member of a 5th year clothing club and leader of a second year 4-H foods club, was honored in being asked to sing a favorite 4-H club song, entitled "Dreaming" at the 4-H Awards Banquet which was held at the Newhouse Hotel on Monday evening. eve-ning. i |
