Show - The Twenty-Fourth at Pinto. The editor of The Record accompanied ac-companied by Kafe McConnell, and Mrs. Allie Knell on a semi-business trip dropped in upon the people of 1 Pinto, Washington county, just as I they were in the midst of their celebration cele-bration of the Twenty-Fourth. The young people with musical instruments instru-ments to accompany the singing were out serenading, it being shortly short-ly after noon. In the middle of the afternoon a general picnic party was held on one of the lawns, and practically every resident of the community, as well as several from other places, sat down to a spread that was sumptuous and ample e nough to have graced a royal table. There are not very many people in Pinto, but what there are of them are about as hospitable anil genial a company as it would be possible to find anywhere. After the repast the balance of the afternoon was spent in listening listen-ing to musical numbers, there being several talented singers and players play-ers there, and an organ being placed on the lawn for the occasion. Down at the mouth of the Pinto Canyon a large picnic party from Newcastle and surrounding settle mentS had congregated and were enjoying a picnic. |
