HIGBEE'S UNTIMELY DEATH Wife of Prominent Cititen Succumbs to Operation for Removal of Goiter from Neck. i This (Friday) afternoon the funeral services are being held over the remains re-mains of Mrs. M. 1). Higbee, who died i at the local hospital following an op-I op-I eration for the removal of a goitre. I The operation was performed by Dr. ! Middleton, who has specialized in this I class of cases and is acknowledged to lc one of the best in the state, but Ion account of the frail condition of the patient she could not recover from I the shock and died the next day after the operation. The sympathy of the people of the community goes out to Mr. Higbee and family in their hour of gloom and sorrow, over the loss of a faithful faith-ful wife and a devoted mother. BIOGRAPHICAL Julia A. Higbee, daughter of Isaac C. Higbee nnd Elizabeth Summers, was born in Cedar City July 2nd, 1862, and was married to M. I). Higbee Hig-bee March 22, 1882. They had a family fam-ily of seven children, two boys and j five girls, three of whom have pre-I pre-I ceded their mother to the great be-i be-i yond. Her living children are Mary 1 E. Thorley, wife of Dr. R. A. Thorley, Zina Bryant, wife of Charles Bryant, Myron F. Higbee and Ruth Seegmil-ler, Seegmil-ler, wife of A. C. Seegmiller She has six grandchildren "Deceased was a faithful Latter-day Saint, and served as counsellor in the Relief Society for nearly six and a half years, which position she held up to two weeks ago, when she resigned I on account of ill health. She was full ! of faith, devoted to her religion and family, and fond of administering to I the needs of others who were in troub-i troub-i le or want. In this work she frequent ! ly did more than her strength warranted. |
