Show Thanksgiving Program a Success. Tho program given by the Hayden Society Thanksgiving morning was a most interesting one and was much appreciated by tho large number in attendance. Every number was listened list-ened to with close attention and brought hearty applause. The opening song, "Praiso Thee tho Father" was givsn by members of tho society. Thanksgiving prayer, Wultcr C. Mitchell, and Thanksgiving sermon by Rev. C. S. Rico, which was delivered in his usual pleasing style. His text, "O, givo thanks unto tho Lord for Ho is good; for His mercy enduroth forever," for-ever," was taken from the first vorso of tho lOGth Psalm. One of Riley's Thanksgiving poems was read by Mrs. Bruhn. It was very appropriate nnd well rendered. The drill by members of tho Fifth ' grado of tho district school was much j enjoyed, each child telling what ho was most thankful for. Tho two musical numbers by Prof. Eckles and Mrs. Nina Barber wero cry much appreciated. Mr. Eckles sang one of Buzzi Pcccia's famous compositions, "Gloria." Mrs. Barker's Bar-ker's was a piano selection, "Sounds from the Woods" by Homer Gunn. Tho band was present and played several selections. When the meeting meet-ing closed tho band repaired to tho library whero several more selections were given. A dnnco in tho evsning completed the program and closed one of tho nicest Thanksgiving days wo have ever ev-er experienced here. |
